The Aviation Electronics Technology (Avionics) program provides the student with the ability to obtain industry standard training to become an Aircraft Avionics Technician.
Avionics Technicians perform a multitude of electrical and electronics tasks and troubleshooting that include fabrication of wiring harness for aircraft completion facilities, installation of communication and navigational systems, repair and replacement of aircraft electronics systems and components, installation of passenger entertainment systems, satellite communications, pitot/static inspections, system repairs, and return-to-service functions.
The aviation industry is experiencing significant global expansion and maintains a constant need of qualified personnel to support manufacturing, modifications, maintenance, and upgrades of new and existing aircraft and systems.
The avionics program is offered on a near one-year certificate format. The program is offered as a stand-alone program or can be accomplished as an addition to the Aviation Maintenance program (A&P) to supplement the qualifications of an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Technician.
The program graduate can also choose to complete the Aviation Electronics Technician Testing (AET) Certifications that provides a recognized level of industry competency and capability. An FCC (Federal Communications Commission) test prep course is also planned for the future.

What is the AEA?
Founded in 1957, the Aircraft Electronics Association represents nearly 1,300 member companies in more than 40 countries, including approved maintenance organizations specializing in maintenance, repair and installation of aircraft electronics systems in general aviation aircraft. The AEA membership also includes manufacturers of aircraft electronics equipment, instrument repair facilities, instrument manufacturers, airframe manufacturers, test equipment manufacturers, major distributors, engineers and educational institutions.
