91¸£ÀûÉç is firmly committed to protecting the privacy of students, faculty, and staff.
91¸£ÀûÉç’s systems, including eStorm and swic.edu, are designed to provide information to 91¸£ÀûÉç staff members to aid in performing college business.
As the information contained in the sites is not intended to be used for personal gain or for non-academic business, the use of these resources is monitored.
Access to these sites is a privilege, not a right, and may be terminated to anyone who misuses these resources.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Information
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
91¸£ÀûÉç may ask you to provide certain personal data that can be used to contact you may include: email address, first name and last name, phone number, and/or address.
Confidential Data
Confidential data collected is used for identification purposes may include: social security number, driver license number, or State identification card number.
Some of the data on 91¸£ÀûÉç’s sites are considered confidential by 91¸£ÀûÉç. Access to these sites is controlled, and only users who require access to this information to perform their job are granted access specifically:
- Social Security Numbers: Some of our web sites with student data, personnel and payroll data contain Social Security Numbers, which are confidential and protected by the Privacy Act of 1974, Illinois Statute, Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS § 530/); and 91¸£ÀûÉç Board approved policies
- Student data: Some of our resources contain student information, the privacy of which is governed by the Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act, which can be found at: /students/swic-cares-about-you/ferpa/
- Security logs: Security logs of all log in events are maintained and used to monitor repeated password violations and other events that might indicate a compromise of our systems. If a login was used repeatedly with an incorrect password, the user, the user’s supervisor, or the network administrator or security contact of the user’s IP address may be contacted to determine the problem.
Users are expected to respect the confidentiality of the data to which they are granted access. Violation of this confidentiality will result in removal of access to all 91¸£ÀûÉç resources.
Access Logs
All requests for web pages are tracked and logs maintained (used to provide statistics) with the time, user id, IP address, and type of operating system and browser. Usage data is collected automatically when using 91¸£ÀûÉç applications and may include information such as:
- Your device’s internet protocol address (e.g. IP address)
- Browser type, browser version
- The pages of 91¸£ÀûÉç.edu that you visit; the time and date of your visit; the time spent on those pages
- Unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data
When you access 91¸£ÀûÉç.edu by or through a mobile device, 91¸£ÀûÉç may collect certain information automatically including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile internet browser you use, and/or unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
Information may also be collected that your browser sends whenever you visit 91¸£ÀûÉç.edu or when you access 91¸£ÀûÉç applications by or through a mobile device.
Use of Your Personal Data

- Application for enrollment or to provide educational services

- Contact you to provide news and general information about the College
- Manage your requests
Additionally, your personal information may be used for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, and/or to evaluate and improve services, the website, marketing campaigns, and your overall experience.

These affiliates will be required to honor this Privacy Policy. 91¸£ÀûÉç may share your personal information with business partners to offer additional services as not explicitly provided by 91¸£ÀûÉç. We will not disclose any information without your consent for any other purposes.
Sharing of Your Personal Data
Personal and confidential information or data usage will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes of their products or services. 91¸£ÀûÉç will not sell your information to third parties.
Texting
Personal information may be shared with third-party texting service providers if you have opted in for texting in your eStorm profile or another data collection method. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS or MMS notifications. You may opt out at any time.
Opting Out
You may opt out of the third-party ad networks’ use of cookies by visiting the consumer opt-out page for the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising and edit; or opt-out of Google cookie use by updating your preferences in the Ads Preferences Manager.
