Role Description
This is a part-time on-site Teacher Assistant/After School Teacher role at Zion Lutheran School in Belleville, IL. The Teacher Assistant/After School Teacher will be responsible for working with children, assisting the lead teacher, communicating with staff, and supporting the educational activities of the classroom. Several positions are available.
Qualifications
鈥� Assistant Teaching and Education skills
鈥� Strong Communication skills
鈥� Experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting
鈥� Strong love of Jesus and passion for sharing his love with children
鈥� Ability to work collaboratively with lead teacher and other staff members
Additional Qualifications: (some of which are completed during hiring process)
鈥� Must be 19 years of age
鈥� Background check, including fingerprinting
鈥� Provide a cover letter and appropriate supportive documentation
鈥� Provide a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)
鈥� Complete a total of 12 annual Early Childhood training provided by the teachers
鈥� A signed statement that acknowledges the employee鈥檚 status as a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse and/or neglect
鈥� Three written character references
鈥� Physical examination completed no more than 6 months prior to employment that provides evidence that they are free of communicable disease, including a test for tuberculosis using the Mantoux method resulting in a negative result and physical or mental conditions that could affect their ability to perform assigned duties
鈥� Proof of MMR
鈥� Must be a member of Gateways to Opportunity Registry

鈥� Demonstrate professionalism as measured by professional attire, language, and respectful interactions with staff, parents and students.
Hours | Part-time-Less than 20 hours per week
Pay/Wages | $15.00/hr.
